On genuine Lupac{s}-Beta operators and modulus of continuity

In the present article we discuss approximation properties of genuine Lupac{s}-Beta operators of  integral type. We establish quantitative asymptotic formulae and a direct estimate in terms of Ditzian-Totik modulus of continuity. Finally we mention  results on the weighted modulus of continuity for the genuine operators.

What ’ s Left Is Closer to Right

The present paper attempts to respond to criticisms made by Keating (1988, Developmental Review, 8, 376-384) regarding the present author’s earlier paper which described a recasted model of formal operations (Bymes, 1988, Developmental Review, 8, 66-87). This earlier paper made a distinction between conceptual and procedural knowledge at the level of formal operations, and presented evidence su...

Map of Witten ’ s ⋆ to Moyal ’ s ⋆

It is shown that Witten's star product in string field theory, defined as the overlap of half strings, is equivalent to the Moyal star product involving the relativistic phase space of even string modes. The string field ψ A (x µ [σ]) can be rewritten as a phase space field of the even modes A (x µ 2n , x 0 , p µ 2n) , where x µ 2n are the positions of the even string modes, and p µ 2n are rela...

Quasi-projective covers of right $S$-acts

In this paper $S$ is a monoid with a left zero and $A_S$ (or $A$) is a unitary right $S$-act. It is shown that a monoid $S$ is right perfect (semiperfect) if and only if every (finitely generated) strongly flat right $S$-act is quasi-projective. Also it is shown that if every right $S$-act has a unique zero element, then the existence of a quasi-projective cover for each right act implies that ...
